Radio Report: Teenage Pregnancies by Umer Farooq



The story by Mr Umer Farooq of batch-5 focuses on the health implications for both mother and new born associated with teenage pregnancies. The report discusses how marriages and pregnancies at an early age can prove detrimental since the body of the pregnant girl is not developed to support child bearing and therefore several complications may arise for both the mother and new born. A media journalist, photographer and documentary film producer, Mr. Umer Farooq joined the Daily North West Frontier (English) as a reporter right after the completion of his master degree from the Department of Journalism & Mass Communication, University of Peshawar. During his time with the Daily North West Frontier, Mr Farooq produced excellent articles with a focus on the genuine educational issues of the Pakistani society. He is currently working with an online television, Maati-TV as a correspondent; he produced several short documentaries on different issues from Khyber Pakhtunkhwa.
